Dedicated to Supporting Every Child’s Growth
Meet Julie Burnett, MS, CCC-SLP
I believe every child has the potential to grow, learn, and communicate when given the right support. My goal is to partner with families and schools by providing practical, evidence-based therapy that builds confidence, celebrates progress, and creates meaningful change in everyday life.

My Story
I didn't originally set out to become a speech-language pathologist. While working in developmental services, I had the opportunity to co-treat with an SLP, and I was amazed. Watching her work felt almost miraculous. She gave children something that would stay with them for the rest of their lives—the ability to communicate, connect, and participate more fully in the world around them.
I remember thinking that years would pass, and many of those children might never remember the name of the therapist who helped them. But they would carry the gift she gave them every single day for the rest of their lives. That realization changed the course of my own life and inspired me to become a speech-language pathologist.
Over the years, my passion has grown beyond communication to include pediatric feeding. Feeding is about so much more than nutrition. It supports growth and development, brings families together around the table, encourages social interaction, and creates some of childhood's most treasured memories. When a child struggles to eat or communicate, the entire family feels the impact. Helping children overcome those challenges is one of the greatest privileges of my career.
I founded 1st Foundations Pediatric Therapy because I wanted families to have access to expert, individualized care that fits into their everyday lives. Through virtual therapy, I can partner with parents and schools to provide practical, evidence-based support without the barriers of travel or long waitlists. My mission is simple: to build strong foundations early, because early intervention has the power to change a child's developmental trajectory and create lifelong opportunities for success.
Every child deserves the chance to communicate, connect, and thrive—and I consider it an honor to be part of that journey.
